Build You Pyramid With Any Network Marketing Systems

Category: Maximum Marketing — @ 12:00 am

A variety of network marketing systems can be found on the internet nowadays. Also known as MLM, or multi-level marketing, network marketing uses the power of exponents to create scope and depth that converts into increased sales and profits over time.

What’s the power of exponents? Basically this, that two becomes four, which becomes eight, which turns into sixteen — then thirty-two, then sixty-four, then a hundred and twenty-eight, then five hundred and twelve, then over a thousand…and so on.

That’s the power of exponents.

And that is what all MLM or network marketing systems utilize. Recruit one person, who in turn recruits two, each of whom recruits a further two to give you – they are your network. Therefore from one person in your network, you now have seven! That’s seven people working for you, because in a network marketing system everyone “kicks up” a specific percentage of the revenue. So the more people you recruit, and the more they recruit, the more money you make!

The world wide web makes these kinds of systems easier to create and manage, what with automation and a slew of options. The worldwide web itself is a network (it is, after all, a web!) and so wonderfully complements network marketing, exponentially – yes, that word again – increasing its scope and depth – yes, scope and depth.

“Scope” refers to range while “depth” relates to quality. Not only does the internet boost your range by leaps and bounds, the nature of the medium is such that quality contacts are much easier to make and maintain. Not like in pre-internet days when network marketers had to depend on relatively hit-or-miss media such as print or radio, the internet allows for really precise targeting of your audience, your market. Web analytics can tell you how many impressions are served up, how many click-throughs occurred, and lastly what your conversion rates are – just for starters!

The Uniqueness Of A New Orleans Saints License Plate

Category: Maximum Family — @ 12:00 am

Ever seen somebody with a New Orleans Saints license plate – out of state? That’s either a true football fan or a person wanting to demonstrate solidarity with the city of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Of course, it’s usually both, a sports fan with a social conscience.

Sports are generally considered to be pure entertainment, some thing where everyone can forget about real-world issues and difficulties and indulge in a primal urge to compete – or live vicariously through those who do. And so NFL license plates are common, the mark of a dedicated sports fan, and they sell by the tens of thousands.

But it is a nice thing to see and read about in the papers when sports aspires towards some thing more than just multi-million-dollar salaries. Not that there’s anything wrong with making money, but it’s nice to see that it is not all about money, especially with some thing which moves so many people so passionately.

And so rooting for the Saints and even going so far as to mount a New Orleans Saints license plate came to be something of a civic duty, almost, for the socially aware sports fan, if you will. For there’s nothing most Americans like better than their football than to root for the underdog, and sports franchises symbolize their cities in a way that few other goodwill ambassadors can.

And so it was that everyone cheered on the Saints in their first post-Katrina game. It was not just about scores and bragging rights anymore; it was about a shared concern for fellow Americans, a way to illustrate one’s own compassion and even support, even if only symbolic – and of course, in sports, it is all about symbolism. Just as Katrina, in a catastrophic catharsis of Biblical proportions, symbolized a country stunned at its own impotence and bad luck. And what does sports center around if not power and the vagaries of fate?

The Serial Entrepreneur

Category: Maximum Marketing — @ 12:00 am

Starting up a business is tough – but some people seem to have a talent for starting them up one right after the other! Take Zalman Silber for example. Already a star representative at famed New York Life Insurance Company, Zalman Silber has gone on to found multiple businesses around the world in a fairly diverse number of fields. He is what is called a serial entrepreneur, one whose particular talent seems to be starting up multiple businesses that are also successful. But how is it done? How could something so hard the first time around be done time after time thereafter?

Of course, it gets easier with practice, which is what each time in itself is, really: practice. And there are common elements involved for which one may make use of stock tactics and strategies learned from that all-important first time; sources of funding, supply chains, hiring staff. More relevant, however, is the question of why – why go through all that again?

To make more money, of course! And, truth to tell, because it is fun. Yes, fun! Especially when you keep winning. There is nothing like the act of creation, of realizing an idea concretely, in the flesh. There is a very real adrenaline rush involved, and it’s all the more enjoyable when you work as part of a team, when you have some good partners or key principals you employ all working towards the same goal: success for all.

To get a sense of this excitement, watch a season of “The Donald’s” popular series “The Apprentice.” It’s a program that blends the best elements of the traditional game show with modern reality television to produce an entertaining distillation of how business works. Strangers to one another are thrown together – just like in real life – on a single task that will benefit their team as well as themselves. And each individual is involved in navigating that fine balance between helping themselves by helping their team and getting properly rewarded for it. That’s precisely the atmosphere of a typical start-up – with even the backstabbing a firm likelihood!

After all, who’s to say that a key partner or principal employee doesn’t learn the tricks of the trade and go off to found his or her own firm in the same field or work more lucratively for a competitor? But that’s the least of anyone’s worries in the very beginning, when just getting the business off the ground is so tough that it occupies everyone’s absolute attention. And it is precisely such teamwork that makes the start-up such an invigorating place to work, even as it completely exhausts you with the long hours and non-stop challenges every hour!

Such is the joy for an entrepreneur. Such is the attraction for a serial entrepreneur – where the only thing better than succeeding in business is starting up another one!

The Many Uses For A Camping Tent

Category: Maximum Family — @ 12:00 am

Yes, a camping tent is necessary equipment. But how about a portable grill? Maybe not as necessary, but for most casual campers, it’s still some thing of a need. After all, what’s a warm camping tent without a warm fire outside, full with the uniquely fragrant aroma of juicy meat being roasted?

Especially at the end of a hard day’s hike! Although fun in itself, the great outdoors could definitely be improved on with something hot and delicious!

Obviously, this being the 21st Century, hot meals does not have to mean a real fire. There are now meals ready to eat (MRE) that utilize a chemical reaction in order to heat up food flamelessly! A great deal easier to pack along with your camping tent than even the most portable of propane grills, to be sure.

Next to shelter, food is the other element of camping that most likely most discourages individuals who are otherwise inclined to give the pastime a try. It sounds very nice, even romantic, to spend the evening outdoors, by a lake or on a mountaintop, but with out adequate shelter or good food, all the little miseries of a life in the wild become magnified, particularly for our modern sensibilities.

The MRE is the best thing ever invented in that regard, then. Portable grills and cookers are great, too, but nothing beats an MRE for convenience. A selection of flavors are obtainable, even in just the U.S. alone – check out those from other nations, reflecting the culinary customs of the locals!

Of course, fresh air truly whets an appetite, so just about anything should taste great. But just keep in mind one thing: never take food~ into the tent! It will attract pests like insects and other vermin, not to mention much more serious creatures such as bears and the like!

Xbox 360 Kinect Most Advanced There Is

Category: Maximum Technology — @ 12:00 am

The Xbox 360 is the best video gaming machine for today and tomorrow. It’s already got all the really neat games like “Medal of Honor” and “Call of Duty,” but then there’re exclusives like “Halo” and soon there will be software to go with their new Kinect accessory. Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is the only machine that has anything like this, where the only controller you’ll ever need is your own body! Your movements will control everything that happens, from where you look to how you kick, jump, or swing. That means no more finger-itis, no more sore hands, and no more broken controllers. Probably no more fatties, too, as gamers will need to bust more than just their thumbs!

The Ease Of Using A Wireless Adapter

Category: Maximum Technology — @ 12:00 am

A wireless adapter is a category of connectivity devices that work with PCs or PDAs, smartphones, and the like. In PCMCIA (card) form, the wireless adapter allows a laptop to join a Wi-Fi network. Other form elements consist of standard PCI add-in cards that connect directly with a PC motherboard and USB sticks that plug into an external USB port.

The typical wireless adapter tends to be small, no matter the exact form factor. In fact, many notebooks and netbooks now offer built-in wi-fi networking, with small chips inside providing the capabilities of a wireless network adapter.

And some models these days can even function as wireless print servers that permit one or two printers to be conveniently shared across a network. This offers for several important benefits, starting with not having to deal with wires. Also, a pc isn’t required to manage all the jobs within the printing queue, and it does not necessarily need to be turned on in order to print, even.

Wireless adapters are also increasingly popular due to multiplayer gaming, and it’s easy to see why! There’s absolutely nothing like inviting a bunch of friends over for a LAN party – without all of the wires. And many of today’s portable gaming consoles come with wireless capabilities right out of the box, with absolutely nothing more to purchase and install or even configure.

Wireless network adapters are also being used for video conferencing. As broadband becomes more and more the performance standard, audio-visual applications are expected to skyrocket. Prospective buyers can view real estate in real-time without having to travel for a site visit.

Companies can monitor the security of sensitive locations on their premises, with instantaneous e-mail and text message alerts when motion sensors detect any activity. The possibilities are enormous when signals are freed from the confines of wires and need fairly little infrastructure to support them!

Different Types Of Dog Food Coupons

Category: Maximum Family — @ 12:00 am

Dog food coupons rank among the most popular of searches on the web. Dog foods has traditionally been divided into two types, dry and wet, although semi-moist varieties now exist. Although most dry food can be left out for long periods of time, many owners practice portion control and feed their dogs twice a day, the same as they would with wet foods.

As could be imagined, dry varieties usually cost less, but that does not stop people from looking for dog food coupons online to lock in even greater savings. Dry dog food is the much better option where nutrition is concerned, too; they’re more nutrient-dense than wet dog food because the latter necessarily contains high amounts of water, anywhere from sixty to ninety percent.

On the other hand, however, wet dog food typically contains less filler, such as corn and wheat, and a lot more meat, especially when compared against the cheapest dry ones.

Dry dog food is essential for giving canine teeth a bit of a workout while wet food is recommended for older dogs that have difficulty chewing. Most owners, nevertheless, will simply buy whichever one they have dog food coupons for! Some people also believe that specific breeds should be fed only certain kinds of food, but practically everybody agrees that an age-specific diet is essential.

In common with human food, dog food ingredients are listed in order, by amount, and such lists are really long. Many people feed their dogs food made at home, and there are those who even feed them human food.

Although dogs will eat just about anything we do, from beer and donuts to rice and vegetables, many are actually toxic to them, for example grapes, onions, chocolates, tomatoes, and certain nuts and, yes, beers. And even common household objects like pennies manufactured after 1982, which contain zinc, can be fatal with ingestion.

Understanding Article Marketing

Category: Maximum Marketing — @ 12:00 am

When it comes to article marketing, it seems like many people just don’t have an understanding of what it’s really about. Just go to any of the article directories on the web and read some of the junk that’s posted, masquerading as “articles.” They are articles in name only, and more often than not entirely uninspired and uninformative. This is article marketing run amok, where people who have very little desire in real writing figure they will just post a text string in the hope of getting Google’s attention, a very skeptical ploy. For such people, they have lost sight of the initial purpose of the whole endeavor – or at least what should be its driving enthusiasm, anyway – and substituted as an alternative a mathematical monster of keywords and relevancy and text length and number of paragraphs.

No, gentle reader, article marketing is above that. As with many things in our world it appears, let’s go back to the good old-fashioned variety for insight. Let us take another look at article marketing for our own edification, and in the process improve our methods and distinguish ourselves from the hacks, slightly literate and certainly no intellectuals.

Let us vow instead to fight against internet pollution, where every result by Google seems to be just mathematically manipulated trash bearing little facts and even less interest. For article marketing was a productive promotional method way before its unlucky incarnation on the web.

It was, initially, essentially indistinguishable from real news back in the days of the so-called old media, the days when news media meant newspapers and magazines, television and radio. At the time, it was all meant in earnesty, all designed to provide actual info that is of use. Along the way, a quick mention was made ever-so-casually that promoted some business, the business that had provided the helpful information.

For instance, around tax season, the local accountant would pen an article or even narrate a radio spot (or be interviewed on television) on changes in the law that may have an effect on refunds that year. Or for Thanksgiving, a local chef would, again, whether in print or another venue, supply tips on how to make the perfect holiday meal. And somewhere in it all would be a brief mention of the company or restaurant, as in, “Mr. So-and-so of Acme Tax Prep, Inc., says that….”

But most essential of all for our discussion, what was actually said or written was helpful and almost always intriguing. It was not only informative but well written or well done, with skilled production values. Compare that to the articles floating about the web these days that say nothing in particular, whose only purpose is to create backlinks. Such an article would never have seen the light of day back when articles were meant to be read by people instead of being scanned by algorithms for keyword metrics!

GSM cellular telephones 1 of the most dependable

Category: Maximum Technology — @ 12:00 am

GSM cell phones work over 1 of the most dependable wireless communications protocols around. It was GSM mobile handsets that first offered low-cost text messaging services, which is also a common feature of other cellphone communications standards these days. Industry analysts believe that up to a whole eighty p’cent of the world uses GSM for each and every day, which means that about four billion people in above two hundred countries and territories are served daily by this standard. Thanks to such widespread usage, roaming deals between cellular carriers are attainable for uninterrupted service in many different parts of the world.

The Great Outdoors in New York

Category: Maximum Fun — @ 12:00 am

Here’s a novel thing to do in New York as a tourist: personal training. Forget the tourist traps like Zalman Silber’s Skyride; if you want true heart-thumping excitement, how about hiring one of the many attractive personal fitness trainers available for a jog, swim, stretch, or bike-ride around town? Really, there’s no better way to take in the sights than in the same way a native might.

Thousands – no, hundreds of thousands – of New Yorkers exercise each day, whether specifically working out or otherwise enjoying a physically rigorous leisure activity. Why not you? It will be a lot less expensive than the above mentioned Zalman Silber affair. Instead of helicopter flyovers on film (which is all that his Skyride is – and not even “all” at that, but only “some,” to be exact), why not jog past the West Side heliport near the downtown nabe of Chelsea? Or just take a bicycle ride past the USS Intrepid a mile uptown, along the same waterfront, with its fighter jets and other military aircraft permanently parked above deck.

You want excitement? There’s no thrill more visceral than working out with an attractive able-bodied trainer when new in town! Not only will you enjoy the company of someone that’s good-looking, but you’ll also be able to stay healthy. Even if you’re not exercising at all, picking it up for the first time (or after a long while) when in a new unfamiliar environment can be really fun. In fact, it can be so exhilarating that you need to be mindful of checking your own enthusiasm so as to not get hurt, especially as a beginner!

Indeed, organizations like the 50 States Marathon Club were founded to serve people who already have, all on their own, combined fitness and traveling into one unbeatable vacation package. And for many who are retirees, exercise and travel go hand-in-hand every day! It’s a great idea with which almost anyone can participate along.

Obviously, many people have long traveled just to do certain things at, specifically, certain places. Climbing and hiking come to mind immediately; they are probably the pastimes most associated with travel. But there are many sports and otherwise physically demanding activities that can be intimately tied to a certain place. Bicyclists and kayakers are as similarly enamored of particular places as climbers. Surfers and hangliders, too, as these sports depend on conditions that are often most dependable at specific spots.

And so when in New York one may bike, swim, run, kayak, and of course simply walk all over the place. Indeed, it is one of the most versatile cities in the world in this regard, with very free open space in most cases: row or paddle where you will; run or pedal as long as you can. This isn’t news for natives, to be sure, but tourists may be surprised that New York truly has it all, including outdoors life!

Benefits Of Educational Toy

Category: Maximum Fitness — @ 12:00 am

During the early eighties, personal computers were billed as something like educational toys. Some kids desired them, but only a few parents fully understood the point. The world, see, had not yet undergone the personal computing revolution then.

Computers had not taken over businesses, becoming an indispensable tool of everyday business; there were still whole sectors of expert typists who did nothing all day but produce paperwork for other departments. Had a bill? Someone typed it up. Have to send a letter? Someone typed it up.

And so getting a personal computer in those days was like getting educational toys for Christmas – or so numerous unsuspecting parents thought. They might have read something about the coming computer revolution and vaguely understood that such electronics are going to be somehow essential to the world in a few years, however it’s doubtful the common buyer thought much about it. No, it was the kids who clammored – and how educational could the thing be if kids were willingly, even passionately, asking for it?

Asking, demanding – rarely the behavior of children in relation to many educational toys! And certainly, for many kids, the personal computer became nothing more than a glorified videogaming machine, a home arcade.

To be sure, a much wider range of entertainment software was obtainable for computer platforms than on the game consoles of the era, a variation which persists, though less greatly, today. But make no error in judgment: the greatest use the majority of kids got out of a home computer system at the time was electronic entertainment.

Fortunately for a few, however, having a personal computer within the home – it was often shared between siblings – lead to professions in information technology. For these people, the early fascination with personal computers has endured, maturing into jobs creating software, installing hardware, supervising networks. For their parents, a computer was truly the investment in their children initially envisioned.

Why MLM Is So Popular

Category: Maximum Marketing — @ 12:00 am

MLM – probably the three most familiar letters to people first contemplating a small home business. It stands for multi-level marketing, of course, long a colorful mainstay of American entrepreneurship. But exactly what is it? Why is it so often reviled – and so persistently existent?

To put it simply for purposes of illustration, MLM is nothing more than a networking theory as applied to direct sales. Networking theory concerns, obviously, networks, or the connections between points. These points, or nodes, are for purposes of our discussion each individual salesman or woman.

Let’s say you’ve got a product to sell. You recruit two individuals to sell it, but as opposed to basically offering a very high commission on each unit sold, they need to “kick up” a certain percentage of the profits to you. They in turn recruit two other people each under the same terms.

Those two recruit still others, still under those terms. As can be imagined, with enough people working in your network, you’ll no longer have to do any selling yourself! And neither will those who have a good-sized network under them.

This is the beauty of it all; at some crucial “boiling point,” your network almost takes on a life of its own. There are lots of variations to this basic concept, but all such programs work on these general premises. The worldwide web, being itself a network, perfectly complements this type of a business.

And so it is that many would-be entrepreneurs have taken to network marketing with quite a passion, because the nature of the new medium is such that one’s reach is exponentially extended – and it’s all about the numbers in this game. Recruit enough people under you and you simply collect money! Many make a living doing just this, with moderate to extravagant incomes.

Tempura Batter A Suprisingly Western Style For A Japanese Cuisine

Category: Maximum Family — @ 12:00 am

Coming from a country whose cuisines are very distinctive and often mysterious to western audiences, Tempura is really a surprisingly western style dish for Japanese food, though not without its unique charms. Tempura is simply any of a number of seafoods – fish, shellfish, and cephalopods – and vegetables that have been doused in tempura batter and deep fried. Tempura batte itself is really a straightforward affair, made up mostly of cold water and soft wheat flower.

Sometimes starch, eggs, baking soda or powder, oils, or spices may also be added to alter the texture, consistency, and taste of the batter. It is then typically whisked for a brief period of time, perhaps only a few seconds – just enough to mix the ingredients – with a small instrument, typically chop sticks. Unlike other, typically a lot more viscous batters used in deep frying, tempura batter is deliberately allowed to keep a lumpy consistency. Between this and the consistently cold temperature of the batter, the end result is that tempura batter is usually fluffier.

Otherwise, too high a temperature or too vigorous whisking will release gluten from the wheat flour which will give the batter a tougher, doughier consistency that is undesirable. Special flour is also available for the making of tempura batter that will not release gluten under these circumstances, essentially making the batter failure proof.

Right after tempura batter has been prepared, small, thin strips of vegetables and seafoods are dipped in the matter and fried for a short period. Common seafoods are shrimp, scallops, squid, crab, and a number of fishes, which are also fried along with vegetables like peppers, potatoes, mushrooms, and different species of squashes.

Canola or vegetable oil are both sufficient for frying, but traditional preparation demands that the ingredients dipped in tempura batter be fried in either sesame seed or tea seed oil. This should impart a much more authentic flavor, and purists suggest that use of these oils results in a lighter, fluffier, crispier tempura batter after it’s been fried. Also in contrast to American dishes, great care is taken not to overcook the battered ingredients, lest their flavor be polluted. Measures are also taken to assure that lumps of tempura batter don’t remain floating in the oil right after ingredients have been fried.

This is to prevent the batter from becoming overfried in the oil and burning, leaving a bad taste in the oil that can in turn ruin ingredients yet to be fried. These lumps of tempura batter even have their own name, Tenkasu, and are themselves utilized as ingredients or as toppings in other dishes. Tempura is usually eaten almost immediately right after frying. There are a number of sauces that are traditionally used, where pieces are dipped using chop sticks. Other additives like sea salt and powdered green tea leaves are also common.

Continue Your Professional Studies With Online CPE Courses

Category: Maximum Family — @ 12:00 am

Online CPE courses are a fact of life for today’s doctors, laywers, and accountants who need to maintain their professional certifications by staying on top of developments in their fields through self-study. Numerous individuals get into these careers due to the money and prestige invovled, but not everyone initially thought that they would be studying for the rest of their lives!

That’s why it’s crucial to truly love your work and go into some thing that’s enjoyable in itself. Life is too short boning up on CPA CPE courses, for example, unless you really like to maintain track of money for its own sake!

Changing laws affect every accountant and his or her client, and these laws usually change from year to year, tax season to tax season. Fully accredited CPE programs are what ensure that licensed professionals stay knowledgeable in their field, providing consumers with peace of mind and a minimal level of competence.

Nevertheless, the mystery for some is why others put up with it all simply for the sake of money or social prestige. Lawyer surveys continually show a very high degree of job dissatisfaction, with the majority stating that had they known before what they know now, they wouldn’t have chosen law for a career.

A surprisingly significant number of doctors also report similar disappointment with their profession (frivolous medical malpractice suits being one factor in numerous cases, no doubt). Interestingly, accountants seem the least perturbed by their life choices; perhaps their online CPE courses are simpler or otherwise a lot more enjoyable?

Surely not, but in any case, they aren’t immune, either – so just what drives so many to choose such lines of work? Likely, they got in too deep before they realized what’s what and then it was just too late, having committed so much already.

Country Properties and City Properties

Category: Maximum Marketing — @ 12:00 am

Mention Texas and people imagine wide open spaces. No one first imagines the tall towers of Austin, its bustling downtown and rather cosmopolitan atmosphere.

As a residential property developer of many years, Isaac Toussie has often thought about the differences between urban and rural markets. In this article, we are going to use Isaac Toussie’s first-hand professional experiences to consider the issues. But you should know right at the outset that what follows is merely being presented for human interest purposes only and not meant to serve as any kind of professional advice. All readers are urged, strongly, to talk to licensed professionals when making business decisions of any significance.

Longer lifespans have led to more and more people retiring to the good life in much more rural areas. Such long-time city-dwellers can really make their retirement dollars stretch in these inexpensive locales. Many of the houses are much larger than what could be had for the same price in the city, and they are often built from scratch to specification!

But before you jump in, consider that big rewards come from big risks – and big risks mean a high probability of failure. Losing money is never fun, but losing money you have is preferrable to losing that which puts you into debt! So always double check that you could afford, literally, a worst-case scenario before getting involved in high-risk gambles.

For example, rural areas lack many of the simple everyday conveniences most people take for granted. The store may be several tens of miles away instead of a simple five-minute drive. This is why it’s ordinarily harder to sell a rural home as opposed to an urban one. Which in turn is why you’ll probably need to depend much more heavily on advertising to sell your property, as less people will be driving by and see your for-sale sign. By the same token, it’s also harder to find good investment opportunities, even though they are not uncommon.

Another interesting and potentially problematic issue unique to rural realty is the fact that because homes are much larger and often built along one-of-a-kind designs, they are more difficult to appraise. Unlike mass-produced housing, typical rural properties like farms, ranches, mountain homes, lake homes, and so forth can often be quite different from one another in their features and characteristics. It will also be much more difficult to find qualified and reliable contractors and laborers in the countryside. Specialized workers will almost certainly come at a much higher price in rural areas simply because there are less experienced craftspersons available to go around.

The Creativity Behing Article Marketing

Category: Maximum Marketing — @ 12:00 am

Article marketing is really a form of promotion that uses a “soft sell” approach to generating publicity. Instead of outright ballyhooing a product or service, article marketing mentions it in passing, casually and often briefly at that.

In this way, the possible customer’s likely well-developed resistances against being pitched to, being sold to, may be overcome – or, more to the point, entirely avoided, for the resistance never has the chance, a cause, to be raised in the first place.

That’s how article marketing works, by appearing to be something other than a sales pitch. And in fact, the very best examples of it are really articles, with helpful information presented in an engaging manner.

They are indistinguishable from any other article in newspapers or magazines (or spots on television and radio, for that matter; despite the name, “article” marketing takes place on those media, too, as well as the worldwide web) except for that previously mentioned small casual mention of the business that is really being promoted.

For example, throughout tax season, a or your local accountant might pen an article on new changes in the tax laws governing refunds. This is timely information that a magazine would love to present to its readers. Now by allowing the accountant to write the article, the newspaper gets free material, free content, always a precious commodity for those in the media. But the accountant gets free exposure, free publicity for his or her company.

And here’s the key: that publicity is constructive. Readers benefit from the information provided, and are in a positive frame of mind as a result. Individuals in a good mood are a lot more likely to purchase – this is really a proven fact. So guess who they are likely to think of when it’s time to get their taxes done? Unless they already have a family accountant or the like, folks are likely to keep in mind that helpful person who had already made a positive impression on them with helpful timely information.

Australian Talent American Films

Category: Maximum Fun — @ 12:00 am

The Australian film industry is famous throughout the world for creating some of the most fascinating of cinema anywhere, as well as supplying Hollywood with talent on both sides of the lens. Now we’re not talking Aussie entertainment of the sort that Zalman Silber provides with his Oztrek, mildly entertaining but nothing anyone’s not seen before. No, we’re talking stuff like the Skywalk in Sydney or The Edge in Melbourne – also Zalman Silber affairs – stuff that grabs you.

And so it is that not everything out of the Australian film business is a great piece of art or entertainment, but they are unique when they’re good. Take “Gallipoli” and “The Road Warrior,” or “Crocodile Dundee” or “Romper Stomper.” Now can you imagine films like this coming from Hollywood? Or Bavaria? Or England? Or Hong Kong? Or Beijing? Or Bollywood? Or France or Italy…no.

No, these are Australian all the way through. Not simply because of the cultural sensibilities, but that those cultural sensibilities inform an imagination unlike that anywhere else in its details. On the face of things, with the benefit of hindsight, it seems obvious enough that post-apocalyptic car chases and gun fights must be an entertaining hit with moviegoers. What is it, after all, but the American Western, as transplanted to the Outback and updated for the new millennium? Yet it’s more than that, though an action film through and through with no aspirations toward art’s redeeming values.

Something like “Romper Stomper” is almost uniquely Australian. While Hollywood and Europe have offered its share of serious films, this entry is an art house flick like no other. To be fair, “Gallipoli” does somewhat seem like rather common European art house literary fare, but within the context of Australian cinema at the time it was judged “non-commercial.” (It took three years to find funding for the film as a result, though upon release it was enthusiastically received at home and abroad, resulting in a financial success that helped elevate the reputation of Aussie cinema.)

After such successes, successes which defined the Australian New Wave (also known as the Australian Film Revival), the film industry on the island continent today is experiencing the most robust period of growth in several decades. Government largess continues, while private companies such as Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Brothers have created state-of-the-art facilities that rival any in the United States. Coupled with much lower production costs compared to Hollywood, it’s no wonder that blockbusters such as “The Matrix” and some of the “Star Wars” installments were made in Sydney.
