Wait til computers really take over! Forget blank envelopes! They’ll be history. All those science fiction movies that depict a world taken over by computers show something really diabolical, but real life is at once more imaginative and less exciting (so far!). On the other hand, it’s exactly that kind of a nightmare for those whose livelihoods have been lost on account of computer automation!
Technology displacing workers and whole sectors of the economy is nothing new, of course, and blank envelopes are often made overseas these days anyway – and even then, it will be machines that do the making. After all, papermaking used to be quite a skill, and yet machines have long taken over that trade. But even these overseas workers will soon find themselves replaced in turn as technological change renders them obselete as well.
Is there anything better than firing off an e-mail or text message at practically the speed of light? No printing required, no postage to deal with, no trip to the corner mailbox, and absolutely no waiting whatsoever for an answer! Well, not unless one’s corresponding with a sloth in Australia!
The need for blank envelopes is at the lowest point yet. It’s now hard to find them, even, and one must resort to dedicated stationary stores oftentimes. And it’s all due to the computer revolution that’s totally changed just about every aspect of our lives. It’s nothing like the first envelopes found in Mesopotamia, which would appear to us today to be more like pottery than anything else, made as they were from clay that were dried or even baked in order to be “sealed” – not to mention a right ol’ cracking in order to be opened!
Changing technology has always changed our lives as a species. It is, moreover, dramatic in impact but not necessarily in that immediate, visceral way of fiction. Therefore, the actual year of 2001 gives us unmanned drones and the worldwide web while the film 2001 envisioned moon bases, space travel, and artificial intelligence.
Ergo, no more blank envelopes. You can bet the family jewels that that will be the most dramatic impact of our advancing technology. People won’t know what an envelope is in just another three or four generations!

Technology enthusiasts simply enjoy gadgets from the latest unlocked cell phones to the sweetest new tablets. However, it seems that almost weekly a whole new type of tablet is hitting the market but how you do know which tablet is likely to meet your requirements? Out of all the alternatives you’ve got for your tablet, the Motorola Xoom and the iPad 2 are right towards the top of the list. Keeping up with all of the most recent tablets is rather challenging what with brand new ones being constructed on a regular basis. One of several of the most recent tablets which were released would be the Samsung Galaxy Tab, which deserves some attention. The reason for this is simply because its a more compact tablet yet it provides some big features at reasonable prices. Listed below you’ll discover some of the features that this little device brags on.
The fact that this tablet comes with a card slot that enables you to enhance the memory, is a great little feature. It includes 16GB but can be upgraded by making use of the slot to 48GB. Its driven by Android 2.2, with a huge app market (Android Market) and it supports flash, which a great many other tablets are lacking on right now. It comes with a very nice 7 inch touch screen which includes a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The fact that you can transport this tablet in your pocket is actually a major selling point for me personally. Think about trying to fit an iPad into your shirt or pants pocket. Unless you have the old parachute pants from the eighties, then only maybe. The graphics on this device are sharp and also clear along with vibrant colors and they are very 3D like. It offers the ability to capture video and also take pictures with flash as it features a rear 3MP digital camera together with a 1.3MP front facing camera intended for video chatting. Along with this being built with WiFi but it is also compatible along with bluetooth. You’ll also never need to worry about getting lost again, since this tablet also features GPS, and with it’s very quick 3G link you can find directions faster. If you wish to be impressed a little bit more, the battery is a 4000 mAH battery, which will operate for up to 13 hours. The Galaxy Tab weighs in at just 13.4 ounces along with the actual dimensions of 7.5 x 4.8 x 0.4 inches.
The 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor chip, additionally guarantees that every thing works very quickly. The use of the on screen keyboard is great but the Swype technology is what really got my attention.. For people who don’t know what Swype is, it is a easy way to enter data quickly, by merely swiping your finger around the keyboard, the Swype figures out exactly what your attempting to enter and enters it for you.
This specific product has been receiving great reviews from the actual consumers. Along with its amazing technologies and Android OS it is definitely a good tablet to choose as itll still be up to date for some time. Considering the price and its features the Galaxy Tab is definitely worth purchasing if youre trying to find a small but powerful tablet which has plenty of great features.

New Blu Ray releases are just the most recent example of the notion in the familiar French proverb that notes how “the more things change, the more they stay the same.” That’s because just as with the introduction of DVD a decade earlier, many releases failed to live up to what is possible with the Blu-ray format. Clearer images? Digital audio delivered across more than seven discrete channels, including the subwoofer? Not necessarily, notwithstanding the twenty-five gigabytes of storage available on conventional single-layer discs. While an improvement over what happened with DVD, when VHS resolutions were just copied and pasted to disc, some Blu-ray releases have been barely distinguishable from their prior incarnations!
April 17, 2011
Blu Ray media are poised to take over home entertainment this year. Their main claim to fame rests upon the startling visual clarity offered by the 1080p resolution.. Though the difference between a VHS image and one from a DVD is noticeable enough, the difference between DVD and Blu-ray is many times that! Go to the store and see for yourself. Small surprise, then, that shoppers should run to Blu-ray so enthusiastically, a market has grown around recordable Blu-ray media that allows people to preserve their own special occasions in the clearest most life-like manner possible yet.
April 4, 2011
Blu-ray disc – or oftentimes spelled “Blu Ray disk” by people typing into the search engines – has been revolutionizing home entertainment these past couple of years. Even regular single-layer discs provide 25GB of storage capacity, meaning much sharper video and much better-sounding audio. Given less than five hundred lines of image available with DVDs, the 1,080 lines available with Blu-ray disc is an extraordinary development. That’s significantly more than half of what’s available! Nothing to write home about? Well, imagine if your vision improved by that same amount – and you could see much more than twice as far away, with much more than twice the detail! It’s home entertainment meant for the 21st Century!

I realized I was browsing for Cell2Get reviews when I saw this lovely babe typing as she walked down the street. She was fabulous yet it suddenly made me melancholy thinking about how far removed I am from most such people. After all, who goes around like that but kids…and people who behave as kids. Fine, so that’s extraordinarily judgmental of me but seriously, what would you think of someone who walks down the street buried in a newspaper? So how’s it any different that they’re texting instead? Just makes you wonder why if it’s so important they couldn’t just stop and finish it up at one spot instead of forcing other pedestrians to watch out for them!

By ordering a used Macbook instead of a new one, you can save hundreds and possibly even thousands of dollars.
Many used electronics are refurbished to the original performance standards of the manufacturer, so reliability should be practically just like that to be found with any brand-new factory-fresh unit.
What’s more, getting a used Macbook should help you save even more money in the months in the future, as Apple is anticipated to mention a new iPad model in March, more likely to drive down prices even more as retailers try to move inventory in order to make room for all those new iPads!
Indeed, the iPad itself may be taken as a kind of corporate referendum on the future of the laptop.
Ever the trend-setter, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been most prescient in many of his actions, and concentrating research and development on tablet computing would seem quite the sign that he thinks the laptop is going towards obsolescence in time.
Getting a used Macbook, then, is only going to be cheaper and cheaper in time – though, normally, when they are finally not being produced anymore the laws of supply and demand may well drive prices up again!
A good time to get, then, would be anywhere between now and all the years to come in the first half of this decade.
You would be nearly assured a smart buy since nearly by definition since making such a purchase is to indulge in the brand name without all the absurdly pricing levels.
But besides technological and monetary concerns, it ought to be mentioned that buying anything used would have been a great help to the environment.
That’s one less gadget in the ground, in the end, a good thing for us all eventually.
This is especially valid with regards to today’s hi-tech electronics with all their exotic materials.

An old-style Ny electronics store like Lafnac Digital Computers is an easily recognizable part of city lore. Located in the heart of Manhattan, just off its world-renowned theater district, Lafnac provides services typically to tourists, as could be imagined. However only a short distance away on the streets of Times Square, tourists are treated to some real sleight-of-hand, carried out by highly telegenic and personable young men and women who present as happy couples requiring help taking a photo!
It’s known as guerrilla marketing and it is sheer inspired genius. The really eye-catching young couple are really employed to demonstrate the newest electronics to individuals, only within the guise of helping them take a picture with their camera or mobile phone. Through explaining how to work the gadget, they are essentially marketing the product to unwitting would-be consumers – because of course only the most positive impressions are made!

Do you ever take a stroll around Times Square? Past the neon lights, past all of the glitz, and certainly beyond all of the tourists and crowds. Even past all the electronics stores, for example Lafnac Digital Computers, as well as the musical instruments stores, such as Sam Ash and the like. Past the theater, beyond the bars, beyond even the office buildings there’s a Times Square few know about. It is the Times Square of the native New Yorker, the man and woman who makes his living there and even lives in the neighborhood.
This is a funny word for what is world-famous for being an amusement mecca, but people really live there, in apartments (and not just the hotels), and individuals actually work there, in warehouses and factories (and not just the attractions). It’s Times Square, all right, however the kind unknown to tourists – and most of these native New Yorkers like it that way just fine.

Once your machine is no longer humming the way it generally does, it’s probably time for AC electric motor repair if it runs using alternating electric current. If it’s plugged into the wall or got batteries plugged into it but no longer runs – if the engine is dead – then there is nothing else to be done but place a service call for repair or replacement.
Electric motors are just about everywhere. Refrigerators, space heaters, hair dryers, dishwashers, toys, air conditioners, you name it – if it moves in any way, or if its internal parts do, it’s got an electric motor somewhere. Needless to say, expert AC electric motor repair is most likely not required of them, as often in our throw-away society, unfortunately, it’s just cheaper to buy new than repair old. Really, such expert work is only used for those motors serving airplanes and industrial plants.
It is used once the mechanical motion normally generated is no longer present, or at the intensity it should be. Electric motors convert electrical energy into mechanical energy, and numerous reasons may be behind their failure to generate as before. Any properly performed AC electric motor repair work needs to be fully guaranteed, starting with a careful inspection that includes various measurements to diagnose potential issues. Any disassembly performed should only be handled by an experienced machinists to service such critical parts as bearing journals and end bells. They will also strip old motor windings in a temperature controlled burnout oven, then reconstruct the motor with quality wiring and insulation. Finally, a rigorous test should be performed to certify the repaired motor as being fit for duty, testing such characteristics as voltage, current, and the amount of vibration. Such work can take days, depending on the nature of the problem and the nature of the motor.

Want to take a step back in time and visit Old New York? Then step into an electronics retailer like Lafnac Digital Computers, located in the heart of Manhattan just blocks away from newly rebuilt Times Square. In contrast to something like J&R Music and Computers downtown or B&H Photo Video across town (and incidentally probably the most modern of the three), a store like Lafnac not only looks “Old New York” but truly epitomizes Old New York in all its color and verve.
That’s not necessarily a compliment, but it is not necessarily an insult, either. It is what it is, and its certainly something of a caricature of the stereotype of a New York electronics store . Salesmen (they are all salesmen) work based on commission only, so they really are highly motivated in getting customers to buy and buy big. On this basis alone one could see how things were in the pre-internet days when a local store was the only thing consumer had access to.
December 25, 2010
Experiencing Lafnac Digital Computers, a store just off Times Square’s theater district, one probably can’t help but think of the days when neighborhood electronics retailers like this was all that was open to consumers. But how the internet has changed things! Now buyers can just use the internet and search around for the best deals as opposed to schlepping from store to store.
You can forget smiling salesmen or women. Forget about pressure to buy, to not waste someone’s time. And forget about uncertainty over whether you’re getting the best deal available! With thanks to the web, it’s all fairly easy now. Just click, click, click, and you’re done.
But a store like Lafnac can always have a certain role to play. For starters, they’re more convenient than even online ordering because you can get your product instantly. In fact, it’s likely that such stores cater more for the “accidental” walk-in, people searching for a spare part for their camera or cellphone, out-of-towners who happen to be in the area and absolutely need more batteries or a different lens or even a protective case for their device.

DC electric motor repair typically involves big engines (another word for motors) similar to those found in ships or industrial equipment. But the truth is that even our homes abound with electric motors, either running on AC (alternating current) or DC (direct current) power. However any time things break around the house or apartment we don’t exactly call in for something like DC electric motor repair! However, the most basic ideas involved are not hard to follow, and understanding how these types of engines operate will teach you a lot about electromagnetism in general, a still-mysterious subject even with human civilization’s near mastery of it over these past hundred years.
The basis idea has been understood since the late 19th century yet even now in the twenty-first we are still finding new ways to make use of such knowledge. Electric motors depend on the fact that magnetic opposites attract while magnetic likes repel. These forces of attraction and repulsion create the rotational motion that makes motors useful. Taking advantage of these types of facts of physics is how things are designed to turn, from the propellers of an airplane to the tiniest dime-sized toy!
Indeed, as noted in the beginning, motors are everywhere. Generally, if it moves, there’s an electric motor in there!
Of course, when it comes to fixing these motors, it’s often only the big-boy stuff that people bother with, engines that output several thousands of horsepower in force. Maintenance for these machines demands more than just a layman’s comprehension of the basic electrical concepts! Old motor windings have to be stripped within a temperature controlled burnout oven. Shafts, bearing journals, end bells, along with other parts need to be carefully disassembled for an in depth inspection to identify any damage. Quite often, these motors are rebuilt utilizing quality wire, insulation, and varnish to withstand some of the most demanding of industrial environments.
That’s real DC electric motor repair there: expert and professional and completely guaranteed.

Taking CPA CPE courses is pretty serious business. Many might think that continuing professional education is just a matter of undergoing a self-study course in the convenience of one’s own residence, but, apart from the fact that certain courses might have a deadline of sorts on them (in other words, not performed at one’s own pace), other courses might require attendance at a specific location during particular times.
This is why something like an online accounting CPE course is becoming so popular for otherwise harried professionals. After all, there’s enough to do at work! But keeping up to date with developments in the field is imperative in this era of overseas outsourcing, especially given the present economic malaise. For an accountant, laws change on a yearly basis, and it is essential to be up-to-date on them.
That’s why someone pursuing CPA CPE courses is probably undergoing tough times, in the sense of having another major project on his or her plate, as it were. Naturally, being a professional, nothing less than a solid work ethic, along with a high level of self-motivation, is expected – and can be expected. But it isn’t the stereotypical correspondence course which awards a PhD through the mail! Continuing education can be a little bit of a challenge in themselves, never mind when set as one more task to be worked into an already busy schedule.
Thankfully, online distance learning has come a long way technologically, and the whole process is a lot easier than before. It might even be cheaper, with some courses given free as pilot courses in return for a commitment to finish, as well as providing feedback upon completion. However in all cases, the appropriate accreditation agencies or professional boards needs to be consulted to verify that a course will be recognized as satisfying existing requirements.

The great thing about Times Square is that you simply have everything there – yes, everything, including the you-know-what that it had been so famous for back in the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s until the city started cleaning up in the ’90s, only you need to know where to look because it’s a lot less prevalent and out in the open when compared to before.
However, that’s why it’s known as “The Crossroads of the World,” precisely because it offers everything: fine dining, entertainment, and many types of hotels for the night, from two-star affairs to first-class accommodations. It is really an interesting neighborhood, filled with old-timey New York electronics stores like Lafnac Digital Computers and a Sam Ash musical instruments outlet to office buildings and also actual residences. There are also small warehouses and perhaps a factory or two in the vicinity or the next neighborhood right over. That’s Times Square for you: it has everything; everything.
December 4, 2010
Shops like Lafnac Digital Computers usually sell other items than just computers. They often sell other items, for example cameras and mobile phones. It really has been like that since computer technology began to be implemented into everything. Then it had been “electronics” and no longer “just” a camera or telephone anymore.
A number of these stores are landmarks of the neighborhood. Not necessarily in any official sense, such as being recognized by the city as such, nevertheless longtime residents, even folks who have never patronized them, will frequently make reference to them when, for example, giving directions.
In that regard, such stores are just as much a character by themselves as any citizen from the city. Lafnac, for example, is located right in the heart of Manhattan, just blocks away from world-famous Times Square and its Great White Way. Much like the local Sam Ash or, not so long ago , Tower Records, a store like Lafnac has seen changes come and go.

I decided to buy a wonderful cellular phone from a cellphone company and totally loved the phone but the providers service has not been in any way what I expected. They assured that I would have good service within my area but that was not the situation at all. There has been dropped calls continuously plus in most areas, I had no service bars in anyway. My plan was nearing its end and I wished to change suppliers but was advised I can not take my cellular phone with me to a different company. The good news is, I discovered a site that Unlocked Cell Phones and I was able to switch providers and have my preferred cellphone.

Thinking about a career in the professions? Then keep in mind the fact that continuing education will be a fact of life through out your life in the form of mandatory online CPE courses. A certain number of credits have to be earned within regular intervals of time in order for professionals to maintain their state licensures. Online CPE courses are very convenient for normally busy doctors, lawyers, accountants, and so forth to study at their own pace while achieving the required accreditation to continue practicing within their chosen fields.
The entire notion of continuing professional education arose as a result of the increased complexity of the professions. The state of knowledge is ever growing in a field like medicine, while law and finance are subject to changing laws from year to year. Mandatory CPE, continuing professional education, ensures that professionals stay competent, guaranteeing consumers some level of service and expertise. Online CPE courses integrate the conventional self-study paradigm with web-based interactivity and convenience, taking a lot of the drudgery out of pursuing CPE. Such multimedia learning environments generally tend to foster far better learning and retention than old-fashioned text-only alternatives.
Of course, these are doctors, lawyers, and public certified accountants we’re dealing with here, super-achievers to whom the term “drudgery” doesn’t really exist. Whatever it takes, they will succeed. They don’t exaclty need the unparalleled advantages provided by e-learning. Whether the experience is pleasant or not so pleasant is not an issue for them.
Yet where available, they are likely to prefer comfort and convenience. So while not necessarily necessary per se, web-based CPE is better than any other kind, and fortunately the present day professional now has many such options today.
Still planning on pursuing such careers? Understand that the pursuit will be a lifelong one. Thankfully, CPE online has now come of age.
